Dan Holland, Pastor, 2008-2011

On September 7, 2008, following an extensive search, the Pastor Nominating Committee of the United Parish of Bowie Called Dan Holland to serve as Pastor of the United Parish. Pastor Dan Holland Mr. Holland accepted the call, and preached a sermon at the United Parish on October 19. At a meeting on the same day, the Congregation voted unanimously to accept the Terms of Call. Mr. Holland was ordained as a Minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and installed as Pastor of the United Parish on Nov. 23, in a service at the United Parish of Bowie.

As a youth, Dan Holland grew up in a Navy family and lived in a variety of places. While in college he began attending a Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Washington in 1998, and then enrolled at the San Francisco Theological Seminary, where he was awarded a Masters of Divinity and a Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction in 2006.

Dan met his future wife, Rebecca, doing volunteer work in ministry. They were married in 2000, and have two daughters, Natalie and Michaela, and a son, Ben.

In November 2011, Pastor Holland accepted a Call to be Pastor at the Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, Washington. He preached his final sermon at the United Parish on December 18, 2011.
