Laura Collins graduated from Guilford College with a B.A. in English in 1985. She was awarded a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1990, and was later ordained. She served as Associate Pastor at the Third Presbyterian Church of Rochester, New York from 1990 through 1994. In 1994 and 1995 she was Manager of Roger's House Ministry, a transitional housing program for ex-offenders. In 1995 she became Pastor of Laurelton Presbyterian Church, where she remained until 2000. Following a period of service as interim Associate Presbyter of the Newton Presbytery in New Jersey, she became Pastor of Takoma Park Presbyterian Church where she remained until last year. In her first year at Takoma Park, the church received 40 new members. Laura is married and is the mother of an elementary school aged child.
Laura was appointed to the position of Parish Associate in December, 2005. In June, she resigned her post as she and her family moved from Maryland to North Carolina.
